I meet with single people all the time, a funny thing about most single men is that they define their position as being single as either a half-empty or half full glass. For those of you who are half empty, this might just be the site for you to become half full. Living in Las Vegas, as a single male, is most likely a half-empty situation. I have always made the analogy, that if I were an obese, blind, one armed female, I could still find multiple partners in Las Vegas. This town is built on desperation, not on a monetary level, but on the level of finding someone to love. Women, are the dominant of the two species on the Western Coast when it comes to companionship, and to this day I am still amazed at watching the male tourists from other countries filter through the casinos with their significant other whom seems on at least a physical level, to be well out of their league. The women and men from Las Vegas, both look on in absolute astonishment, at the mismatched tourist relationships. Being single in Las Vegas, is a lifelong sentence after the age of 40, with the exception that if you’re rich, money will dictate. Don’t get me wrong, money seems to dictate everywhere in the world, but in the places where little money is food and rent, personalities and cultural exchange hold more relevance than they do in the Western world. When I started travel dating as a single man, I realized the glass is half full. I’m not thoroughly convinced, that I will need or want a lifelong mate. Just because we find an area that is culturally developed, and has loving personable women, who seem to want to give you everything you need, does not mean you have found “true” paradise abroad. It just allows you, to escape from your reality, and experience fantasy for the first time. There is another side to this coin. Is this infatuation with travel dating going to lead you to marriage, or just someone who wants a green card to travel your country, only to leave you for deeper pockets. This does present a problem, if your heart and mind are not tuned into that person’s wants and needs. You definitely must be very careful when making a decision of this caliber. However, I believe here in America, it’s equally as dangerous, just easier for you to detect, as this is your culture, and most know the signs of betrayal here. The main difference lies in entitlement. Plain and simple, the respect factor in Asia, shuns the idea of beautiful women, displaying entitlement. If you keep the mindset of remaining single, this might just be your best choice, when traveling or living abroad. If you have the capacity, to remain single, and accept and enjoy the fantasy of of dating abroad, there is no reason to risk everything on just one person. I have the feeling, if you are the critical sort, when it comes to making that choice to marry or not, it will be the right one simply because you have unlimited choices. However for now, being single, will create the ultimate experience in travel dating, so please… enjoy.
