Thai love?
Crazy as it might seem, its not that easy to find love in Thailand. This misnomer can be attributed to the differences in Western culture. Westerners are much more independent in nature, we don’t like close talkers. Our culture pushes us out of the house at 18 and quite frankly we really don’t need that push, it’s more likely we just want to get the hell out. Thai Culture keeps the family unit close together, they live together and pass money amongst the family without thinking twice about who owes who. However, falling in love with a Thai girl means you must also fall in love with her family, because if you support her you will also support them, and here is where the tension builds. The clash of culture. When I say Thai Love, I am talking about that relationships that are built on more than lust and sex, because in Thailand this is abundant. Thailand sells service and it sells it cheap. The average Thai worker makes 6-9 dollars a day, and sex and massage services even medical services are found at the highest quality for next to nothing. However, there is a catch. Sex is never for free. Quite frankly if you find a Thai woman whom is not in the bar girl industry, or whom prostitutes herself, you will than stumble upon the “good Thai girls”. This is where it gets expensive. First off, the good Thai girl goes on a date usually with an escort (another girlfriend). Sometimes she brings 3-4 friends with her. This is for safety and to make sure she is protected from the possible sex tourist player, or some other freak which they encounter out there. Unlike the Western counterpart i.e. the fat “cock blocker” chick, her friends are usually equally as attractive, and very receptive to you. There is a catch. If you are going out to dinner, the bill is on you, and they wont tell you this, just pick up the tab and pay, and don’t expect a Thank You from her or her friends. This is Thai Culture, and it is just common place for the “farang” or foreigner to pay the bill. So make sure you eat a non-tourist spot, or you will be floating a heft bill. Thai food is cheap (1-3 bucks per plate) if you eat in their areas, but hit a tourist spot, and your looking at one hell of a bill.
[…] do you fight back? The first thing you must do is pick on your best judgment. Sounds simple for Thailand in Thai. This means don’t pick a working girl or bar girl, or freelancer. This girl must be found […]
